North Yorkshire Centre for Independent Living in Northallerton is seeking a Female Personal Assistant to support a lady with SMA who uses a full-time electric wheelchair. The role is part-time, 8 hours per week, Thursday 1 pm–9 pm, on-site in Northallerton, with DBS required and a driving licence preferred to support outings and appointments.

A Female Personal Assistant is required to support a lady for 8 hours per week. The lady has SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) and is a full time electric wheelchair user.

Support required: Personal care, helping with cooking, some domestic duties, taking her out, supporting with appointments and whatever the day brings!

It is necessary that the PA can drive an automatic vehicle.

A DBS is required for this position.

The 8 hours are on a Thursday 1 pm till 9 pm (other hours may become available at a later date) also extra hours to cover holidays and sickness of other staff members.

The rate of pay is £15.00 per hour

Exception under the Equality Act(2010)- the post is only open to female due to the personal assistance required.
