Job summary

North Yorkshire Centre for Independent Living is hiring a Female Child Support Assistant for 6 hours per week during school holidays to support a 10-year-old girl with Autism/ADHD. The role is on-site in Harrogate and requires experience with children and calm handling of behavioural challenges.

Pay is £13.79 per hour, and mileage is paid when the child is in the car. An Enhanced DBS is required, and the post is open to females only under the Equality Act 2010. A driving licence is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children (2+ years preferred).
• Experience with Autism/ADHD is preferred.
• Driving licence is advantageous for mileage payments.

Responsibilities

• Assist and accompany a 10-year-old girl on walks, to the park and to playgroups.
• Support her during activities and ensure safety during outings.
• Provide companionship and monitoring during scheduled hours in school holidays.

A Female Child Support Assistant is required for 6 hours per week in the school holidays only (13 weeks per year), to support and accompany a 10 year old girl to go on walks, taking her to the park and playgroups.

The young girl has Autism/ADHD and can have behavioural problems and can be stubborn, so the PA must be experienced in children with these issues.

It would be advantageous if the PA had a clean driving licence and access to a car (mileage paid whilst the young girl is in the car)

The 6 hours would be split into 2 x 3 hours, days and times are flexible.

The rate of pay is £13.79 per hour.

An Enhanced DBS is required for this position

Exception under the Equality Act(2010)- the post is only open to female due to the personal assistance required.
