Job summary

Disability North is seeking a kind, experienced Female Personal Assistant to support a lady at home with physical and mental health needs. You will provide person-centred care to help her stay safe, comfortable, and as independent as possible.

The role requires maturity, calmness and reliability. Duties include personal and continence care, safe medication administration, meal preparation, mobility support, wellbeing monitoring and helping access social activities.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting adults with complex health needs.
• Ability to provide personal and continence care.
• Calm, patient, and discreet manner preferred.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and first aid beneficial.
• Reliable and trustworthy; transport preferred but not essential.

Female Personal Assistant wanted for a lady with a range of physical and mental health needs, including reduced mobility, sight loss, falls risk, non-epileptic seizures, dissociation and PTSD. She requires calm, sensitive support to remain safe, comfortable and as independent as possible in her own home.

A kind, reliable and highly experienced female Personal Assistant is required to support a lady with a range of physical and mental health needs to remain safe, comfortable, and as independent as possible in her own home.

The successful applicant will need to be mature in nature, calm, patient and confident in providing person-centred support.

Experience of working with people who have complex health needs, reduced mobility, falls risk, sight loss, non-epileptic seizures, dissociation, PTSD, or emotional wellbeing needs would be highly beneficial.

Duties will include support with personal care, continence care, safe administration of medication, simple meal preparation, minimal domestic tasks, mobility support, reassurance, monitoring of wellbeing and support to access social and leisure activities when required.

The role would suit someone who is gentle, respectful, observant, and able to respond safely and sensitively to changing needs. A good understanding of safeguarding, moving and handling, food hygiene, hand hygiene, first aid and challenging behaviour would be an advantage.

A car driver would be preferred but is not essential. The post is not live-in and does not require use of the applicant's own vehicle or a mobility vehicle.
