A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dedicated female Physical Education Teacher to join a progressive and inclusive secondary school in Failsworth (M35). The school is part of a forward-thinking academy trust focused on student well-being, character development, and academic success.

Location: Failsworth, M35
Daily Rate: £150 – £230
Start Date: Immediate

About the Role – Female PE Teacher
This role offers the chance to lead engaging, inclusive PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with a particular focus on promoting girls' participation in physical education. You will play a vital part in encouraging healthy lifestyles, confidence, and teamwork in young female students.
Due to the nature of the role, including responsibilities around supervising and accessing female changing rooms and providing pastoral care, this position is open to female applicants only, in line with Section 7(2)(e) of the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 as a genuine occupational requirement.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Planning and delivering a broad, inspiring PE curriculum that caters to all abilities.
  • Promoting girls’ engagement in sport, body confidence, and positive attitudes toward physical activity.
  • Leading extracurricular clubs, fixtures, and competitions to extend learning beyond the classroom.
  • Creating a supportive and safe learning environment where all students can thrive.
  • Working closely with the PE department to continually raise standards in teaching and learning.

What We’re Looking For:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or substantial experience in youth sports coaching.
  • A strong personal commitment to increasing girls' participation in physical activity.
  • Confident classroom management and effective communication skills.
  • A reflective and proactive approach to personal and professional development.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one), registered on the Update Service.

Why Join This School?
You’ll be welcomed into a school that values staff wellbeing, inclusivity, and professional growth.
Following a recent Ofsted inspection in 2024, the school was rated ‘Good’ in all areas. The report praised the well-structured curriculum and the supportive environment that enables all students to feel safe, confident, and engaged in learning.
“The curriculum is ambitious for all pupils, including those with SEND. Subject content is introduced in a logical order so that pupils build their knowledge over time.” – Ofsted, 2024
