Job summary

Shifts include nights 20:00–08:00; this is a zero-hours contract. You’ll need a legal right to work in the UK, reliable transport, and a proactive approach to building trusting relationships with the family and client.

Job description

Support Worker – Complex Care

We are seeking dedicated, compassionate Support Workers to join a small and supportive care team providing one-to-one care for a 26-year-old female client with complex clinical needs in Studham, Dunstable.

This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care that promotes independence, dignity, and quality of life.

The client has the following complex needs:

  • Tracheostomy with ventilation
  • Spinal injury
  • Acquired Brain Injury (ABI)
  • Type 2 Diabetes
  • Challenging behaviours

This is a rewarding role supporting someone who wants more than just care — she wants purpose, fun, and a full life.

About the Client:

The client is a 26-year-old woman with a range of interests, including horses, films, music, and social outings. She enjoys trips to the cinema, zoo, coffee shops, and restaurants, and takes an active role in cooking and daily routines where possible.

She lives in a large bungalow alongside her brother and her big gentle dog (who loves belly rubs), with regular visits from close family members. The home environment is warm, stable, and family-oriented.

We are looking for confident and proactive candidates who can build strong, trusting relationships with her family, enabling her to get out, explore, and fully enjoy life.

Shifts Available:
  • Nights 20:00-08:00 - Full time hours available
  • Please note while hours are usually stable, the position is offered on a zero-hours contract.

Please note that this care package is based in a rural location with no access to public transport.

What you’ll have:
  • A legal right to work in the UK
  • Own reliable method of transport – due to location of the family home
  • Must be female
  • Experience in Acquired brain injury is advantageous
  • This role requires a confident, experienced support worker who is proactive and excellent at building relationships and maintaining boundaries.
  • Please note we are recruiting a Female Support Worker due to a genuine occupational requirement of the person we support therefore this role is exempt from the Equality Act 2010 Part Schedule 9
