Job summary

Draycott Nursing & Care in Windsor is seeking a female live-in carer to support one client. You will live with the client for the rota, with 10–12 hour shifts, and breaks arranged during the day.

The role requires experience in mental health care and complex needs, strong manual handling, and a full UK driving licence. Enhanced DBS check and UK work eligibility are mandatory.

Qualifications

Full UK driving licence is required.
Experience in mental health care and handling challenging behaviours.
Experience supporting individuals with complex needs, including spinal injuries or similar conditions.
Competence in manual handling techniques.
Strong communication skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

Support a client with spinal injury.
Assist with moving and handling.
Administering suppositories (training provided).
Provide day-to-day personal care and promote independence.
Offer emotional and mental health support.
Monitor and respond to client behaviour as needed.
Maintain accurate written records of time with the client.

Salary: Weekdays £138.60 per day, and weekends £148.10 per day, plus food allowance

Location: Windsor

Start date: ASAP

What does a Live-In Carer do?

As a live-in carer, you'll live with your client for the duration of your rota. Depending on the needs of your client, shifts can range from 10-12 hours a day. During this time, you will be able to take breaks. If your client can't be left alone during your break, cover will be arranged.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting a client with aspinal cord injury
Assisting withmoving and handling (competence required)
Administeringsuppositories(training will be provided)
Providing day-to-day personal care and promoting independence
Offeringemotional and mental health support
Managing and responding appropriately to behavioursthat might challenge at times.
Building a trusting, respectful relationship with the client

Essential Requirements:

Full UK driving licence
Proven experience in mental health care and working with challenging behaviours
Experience supporting individuals withcomplex needs, including spinal injuries or similar conditions
Confident and competent inmanual handling techniques
Able to travel with the client on trips away
Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
Resilient, patient, and empathetic personality
Willingness to work in achallenging environmentand provide consistent, person-centred care
