Job summary

Aspire People in South Wales is seeking an experienced Maths Lecturer to deliver GCSE and A‑Level mathematics within Further Education settings. The role involves planning engaging lessons, supporting learners toward examinations, and contributing to curriculum development.

You will work with diverse learners, including those with SEN/ALN, and provide constructive feedback, monitor progress and help students progress into employment or further study.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mathematics or Level 3+ equivalent.
• Strong subject knowledge across GCSE and A‑Level Mathematics.
• Experience teaching or supporting learners at GCSE and/or A‑Level.
• Understanding of examination requirements and assessment.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Teaching qualification desirable.
• Experience working within FE is desirable but not essential.
• Experience supporting learners with SEN/ALN is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging GCSE and A‑Level Mathematics lessons.
• Plan and prepare high‑quality lessons for varied learner abilities.
• Support learners preparing for examinations and assessments.
• Develop learners' mathematical knowledge, confidence and problem‑solving skills.
• Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Monitor attendance, progress and achievement.
• Support learners with SEN/ALN or additional learning needs.
• Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement.
• Embed numeracy and employability skills where appropriate.
