Job summary

Reed Further Education is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to provide cover at a Manchester educational establishment. You will help learners with additional needs, supporting teaching staff to foster an inclusive learning environment.

The role requires safeguarding training and FE experience, with an Enhanced DBS Update Service in place. You will contribute to student wellbeing and help learners reach their individual goals within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, Learning Mentor, or similar within a Further Education, SEN, or educational setting.
• Current safeguarding training and strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
• Experience working within Further Education.
• Experience supporting learners with additional needs, including autism, SEMH, learning difficulties, and/or complex needs.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom and 1:1 support to learners with additional learning needs.
• Assist lecturers in delivering engaging and effective learning activities.
• Support learners to achieve their individual educational goals.
• Promote student wellbeing, confidence, and independence.
• Adapt support strategies to meet the needs of individual learners.
• Maintain accurate records and provide feedback on student progress when required.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and contribute to student welfare.
