Job summary

Emerald Teaching LTD is seeking Learning Support Assistants to support partner secondary schools across Greater Manchester. This role suits those who enjoy helping young people succeed, whether you have school experience or transferable care or support background.

You will provide classroom support across subjects, work with students individually or in small groups, and assist learners with additional needs while promoting positive behaviour and a safe, inclusive classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with young people in a school, care, youth work, or support setting is desirable.
• A positive, patient, and proactive approach.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support to students across a range of subjects.
• Work with students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to help them achieve their learning goals.
• Support students with additional learning needs where required.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in lessons.
• Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
• Work closely with teachers and other school staff to support student progress.
