This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality English education and support students in developing the knowledge, skills and confidence required for further study and employment.

You will deliver GCSE English and Functional Skills English, plan lessons, assess progress and contribute to an inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching English within an FE or Sixth Form setting.
• Strong knowledge of English and related areas.
• A recognised teaching qualification.
• A degree in English, English Education or a relevant subject.
• Experience delivering GCSE and/or Functional Skills English.
• Excellent communication, classroom management and organisational skills.
• Ability to engage and motivate learners.
• A genuine passion for supporting students to achieve strong academic and career outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and effective English lessons across the relevant curriculum.
• Plan and deliver lessons, learning activities and assessments in line with curriculum requirements.
• Deliver GCSE English, Functional Skills English and other relevant English programmes.
• Support students with their academic development and progression.
• Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of student achievement and progress.
• Create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Use engaging teaching methods to develop students' English, literacy and communication skills.
• Work collaboratively with the wider teaching team.
