Protocol seeks a GCSE and Functional Skills English Lecturer to join a thriving East London FE provider on a full-time temporary basis. You will deliver engaging GCSE and Functional Skills English lessons, plan and assess learning activities, and monitor progress to support achievement.

The role requires a recognised teaching qualification and an English degree, with FE/Adult Learning experience. Immediate start, supportive team, and development opportunities offered.

Qualifications

• Recognised teaching qualification: PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent.
• Degree or relevant qualification in English or a related subject.
• Experience delivering GCSE/Functional Skills English in FE/Adult Learning/Secondary Education.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• DBS Enhanced on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and high-quality GCSE and Functional Skills English lessons.
• Plan, prepare and assess learning activities that meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement.
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation and success.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress and achievement.
• Support students with examination preparation and revision strategies.
• Contribute to departmental quality improvement initiatives and curriculum development where required.

Requirements

• A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or equivalent).
• Degree or relevant qualification in English or a related subject.
• Experience delivering GCSE and/or Functional Skills English within a Further Education, Adult Learning or Secondary Education setting.
