You'll be working in costume, mainly in the House, greeting families on one of our Christmas experience visits. These consist of a pre-booked one-hour session for 25 children and their adults. You'll welcome the group and then meet each smaller group for a more in-depth chat, listening to and chatting with children, answering their questions with patience and helping to build their excitement.
When that finishes, you'll step into the informal walk-around programme, where you'll chat and have photos taken with our visitors on that day. Depending on how busy it is (and the weather), this might take place outside at the sleigh for the perfect photo opportunity with 'Magnificence' the reindeer.
Being punctual and reliable will be important, as you'll be part of a scheduled programme of experiences for our visitors.
We also offer two 'quiet' sessions as part of the pre-booked events, which are lower key and aimed at children who may be overwhelmed in other settings. You'll be giving everyone the warmest of welcomes and delivering an inclusive experience, using your judgement and adapting how you communicate and interact with each visitor, including responding positively to unexpected or tricky questions from our younger visitors. This will help everyone experience the magic of Christmas and have a festive visit to remember.
Training and support will be on hand throughout your time with us.
