Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a customer-focused associate to support daily store operations and service desk activities in a fast-paced environment. You will process sales, handle refunds and exchanges, and assist customers with loyalty programs and payment transactions at the checkout.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Six months cashier experience to work at Customer Service Desk.
• Must be at least 18 years old (19 in some locations for tobacco).
• Ability to pass drug test.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work weekends on a regular basis, work any shift and overtime as needed.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and encourage associates to provide excellent customer service.
• Perform cashier functions, open/close register, complete tender transactions, and handle produce codes.
• Maintain price discrepancy logs and ensure checkstand cleanliness.
• Answer telephones and comply with corporate policies.
• Promote company initiatives and manage EAS tag deactivation/removal at sale.
• Respond to EAS pedestal activations and tag removals when necessary.
• Maintain store accounting functions and bank deposits.
• Open and close the Customer Service Desk, process refunds and exchanges, money orders, and gift cards.
• Provide lottery service and fish/game licenses; send/receive faxes; manage lost and found.
• Run vendor reports and handle conflicts calmly and professionally.
• Support minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults; perform essential duties with/without accommodation.
