Job summary

Right Now Group in Ipswich/Felixstowe area is seeking an experienced Ocean Freight Import Operator to manage shipments from booking to final delivery, handling FCL and LCL, with a focus on Far East imports into the UK.

You will liaise with carriers, agents and customers, monitor schedules and ensure compliant cargo processing, data entry, invoicing support and KPI delivery. Hours are Mon-Fri with a salary of £28,000-£32,000 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in ocean freight imports and UK customs procedures.
• Knowledge of Incoterms and import documentation.
• Proactive, customer-focused with strong data-entry skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day ocean import shipments from booking through to final delivery.
• Handle both FCL and LCL/consolidation import shipments.
• Liaise with shipping lines, co-loaders, overseas agents, hauliers, warehouses, customs teams and customers.
• Monitor vessel arrivals, milestones and delivery deadlines.
• Assist with invoicing issues, claims and customer service queries when required.
