Job summary

WINSEARCH in Skelmersdale is looking for an experienced CNC Turner to join a precision engineering manufacturer. You will program, set and operate CNC turning machines using Fanuc controls, reading engineering drawings and producing components to tight tolerances.

The role offers a stable day shift, regular overtime, excellent long-term career prospects, and opportunities to work with exotic materials in a modern facility. A time-served background with NVQ/engineering qualification is ideal.

Qualifications

• Time-served CNC Turner with a relevant engineering qualification / NVQ Level 3.
• Strong experience programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines.
• Proven knowledge of Fanuc controls.
• Minimum three years' experience in a precision engineering environment.
• Ability to work from engineering drawings with minimal supervision.
• Competent in the use of inspection and measuring equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Flexible approach to overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Program, set and operate CNC turning machines using Fanuc controls.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Produce components to tight tolerances and customer requirements.
• Create, edit and prove out CNC programs.
• Generate offline programs using CAD/CAM software where required.
• Select appropriate tooling and establish machining processes.
• Carry out first-off, in-process and final inspections.
• Use precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, verniers and gauges.
• Machine a range of materials, including exotic alloys and high-performance metals.
• Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
• Maintain product traceability throughout the manufacturing process.
• Adhere to all health, safety and quality procedures.
