We are seeking a dedicated Family Support Worker to join our team and play a key role in supporting pupils and their families to thrive both at school and at home.At Pytchley school, we are committed to quality in all areas of school life. • Is able to work collaboratively with various members of the school community, including agencies, school staff, child and parents, to be a pivotal supportive link to help overcome barriers to learning
• Understands the importance of Child Protection and is committed to the safeguarding of children's welfare- both at home and in school.
• Is able to promote an effective relationship between home and school life, for both children and parents.
• Has knowledge and awareness of opportunities and resources to support children and families in need.
• Is able to maintain effective and efficient lines of communication between various groups and organisations throughout the community, to ensure essential support is available for families
• Has an understanding of procedures and systems involved in the role, including Social Services, Child Protection, Education Welfare Service policies and Reporting standards.
• Maintains an approachable, controlled and focused manner throughout their work, to relay both a positive and optimistic attitude to support those in challenging situations. Oftentimes the role may involve the ability to deal with a wide-ranging audience on challenging issues
• Has previous experience of working with children and their families
• Ability to work effectively, flexibly and independently, with willingness to show initiative and strong interpersonal skills
