Job summary

Action For Children is seeking a proactive Family Support Practitioner to help families with young children across Norfolk. The role focuses on delivering one-to-one home visits, running parenting programmes and group sessions, and coordinating with partner agencies to provide holistic support.

You will use a strengths-based approach to help families build on what is working well and support children to achieve positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Early Years or relevant study area.
• Experience working directly with children and families, either individually or in a group setting.
• Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication.
• The ability to maintain written records to a high standard.
• The ability to coordinate referral, assessment, and support.
• Access to a suitable method of transport to travel to various settings to carry out your role.

Job description

Norfolk's Early Childhood and Family Service (ECFS) supports children aged 0 to 5 and their families through a range of services, including group sessions, parenting programmes and home visits. Working alongside families and partner organisations, ECFS provides information, advice and practical support to help children thrive, with activities covering topics such as parenting, emotional wellbeing and keeping children safe. As a Family Support Practitioner, you will play a key role in supporting children and families across Norfolk by: Providing one-to-one support in the family home. Delivering parenting programmes and group sessions. Working with partner agencies to coordinate support and attend multi-agency meetings. Using a strengths-based approach to help families build on what is working well.
