Job summary

Castle Tower Special School in Ballymena is seeking a Family Support and Engagement Officer to work with pupils and their families across all key stages. The post holder will join the Pastoral Team, providing family-centred support and coordinating with external agencies to reduce barriers to learning.

The role focuses on emotional wellbeing, signposting, home visits, and close collaboration with parents, teachers and the Vice Principal to develop and monitor action plans.

Qualifications

• A relevant degree in education, youth work, social work, counselling or family support.
• Experience of working with children/young people with SEN and emotional wellbeing issues.
• Experience of multi-agency working.
• Hold a driving licence or have access to transport.

Responsibilities

• Provide family-centred support to pupils and families across all key stages.
• Lead emotional wellbeing interventions and develop action plans with the Vice Principal and EHWB lead.
• Undertake home visits, parental engagement and signposting to services.
• Maintain records, communicate with families, and monitor progress.
