Job summary

Action for Children in Norwich seeks a Family Support Practitioner to work with children and families, helping overcome challenges, improve wellbeing and create safer home environments. You will deliver parenting programmes, behaviour strategies and emotional wellbeing support in homes and community settings.

The role requires a Level 3+ qualification, experience with families, strong IT skills and the flexibility to work across multiple premises and occasional evenings/weekends to meet service

Qualifications

• Level 3 or above qualification in social care, health, education, or early years.
• Experience of working with children/young people and families.
• Good IT skills and ability to record concise, accurate case notes.
• Ability to understand and reflect on daily practice.
• Good communication skills with the Confidence to speak to professionals.
• Flexibility to be able to work occasional evenings and weekends to meet the needs of the service.
• Ability and willingness to work in a variety of premises across the county (the role will be required to work across more than one district at times).

Responsibilities

• Delivering parenting programmes.
• Assessing and responding to referrals into Norfolk's Early Childhood and Family Service.
• Communicating with parents / carers and partners to ensure the families need can be met by the Service.
• Maintaining accurate records by following process and procedure.
