Job summary

Change Grow Live in Preston is seeking a Part Time Family Safeguarding Recovery Coordinator (22.5 hrs/wk) to assess and engage with families, ensuring access to the right interventions. The role involves working with Children’s Services, providing sessions and preparing reports for meetings, with salary pro rata and a values-led, supportive team.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working with families displaying challenging behavior in relevant fields.
  • Ability to manage challenging behavior calmly and professionally.
  • Knowledge of current legislation around young people, families and safeguarding.
  • Sound working knowledge of Child Protection.
  • Sensitivity with diverse cultural family issues.
  • Knowledge of impact of hidden harm, honor-based violence, child sexual exploitation and FGM.

Responsibilities

  • Work with local Children’s Services Teams and Change Grow Live core team members to support families to access relevant support.
  • Provide specialist and generic interventions via 121 sessions or groups.
  • Help develop life skills: budgeting, managing finances, cookery, parenting, accessing numeracy and literacy classes, supporting access into education/employment.
  • Escalate issues with Team Leader and Children’s Services Team Managers to ensure quick resolution.
  • Complete Home Visits, drug testing and Parenting Needs Assessments.
  • Prepare written reports for and attend Child Protection conferences, Core group meetings and Child in Need meetings.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Family Safeguarding Recovery Coodinator who has the skills and experience to assess and engage with our service users and their families, ensuring that they access the right intervention at the right time, in a way that best meets their needs. No two days are the same and we treat every person who comes into our service as an individual, so being flexible, curious and a good listener are key.

Where: Preston

Hours: Part Time, 22.5 hrs per week

Contract Type: Permanent

Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

Responsibilities

About the role:

  • Work closely with local Children’s Services Teams and Change Grow Live core team members to support families to access relevant support.

About you:

  • Experience of working with families displaying challenging behavior in one or more of the following fields: social work; youth offending; substance misuse; probation; health; family work; education; youth and community.
  • Ability to manage challenging behavior in a calm and professional manner.
  • Knowledge of current legislation surrounding young people, families, and safeguarding practice.
  • Sound working knowledge of Child Protection.
  • Sensitivity in working with complex and diverse cultural family issues.
  • Sound working knowledge of the impact of hidden harm, honor based violence, child sexual exploitation and FGM.

Salary Range (pro rata if part time)

CGL points 23 to 28 (£28,557.79 - £32,802.41)
