Job summary

Lincolnshire County Council is seeking a Family Help Worker (formerly Early Help Worker) to support children, young people and families across Lincolnshire. The role involves assessments, plan development and delivering evidence-based interventions to promote family wellbeing.

You will work one-to-one and in groups, lead TAC cases when needed, and coordinate with partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Regular travel across Lincolnshire with occasional county-wide travel.
• Occasional evening and weekend working to meet service needs.

We are looking for Family Help Workers (formerly known as Early Help Workers) to join Lincolnshire County Council's Family Help Service. About the Role

As a Family Help Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children, young people and their families with a wide range of needs. Acting as a key worker, you will undertake assessments, develop plans with families, and deliver evidence-based interventions that promote positive change and improve family wellbeing.

You will work directly with children, young people, parents and carers through both one-to-one and group-based interventions, building strong relationships that help families identify their strengths and achieve their goals.

Key responsibilities include:

• Completing Child and Family Assessments to identify strengths, needs and areas for support.
• Working collaboratively with children and families to develop and deliver effective plans for change.
• Acting as the Lead Professional for Team Around the Child (TAC) cases where appropriate.
• Contributing to holistic family support for children subject to Child in Need Plans, Child Protection Plans, and children in care.
• Delivering group programmes and targeted interventions.
• Providing support to young carers and ensuring their voices are heard.
• Working alongside partner agencies to coordinate support and achieve the best possible outcomes for families.

About You

We are looking for passionate, resilient and motivated individuals who are committed to making a positive difference in the lives of children, young people and families.

To be successful in this role, you will need to hold an NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant field and be able to build effective relationships with children, families and partner agencies. You will be confident in working independently, managing competing priorities and delivering high-quality support that achieves meaningful outcomes.

As this is a community-based role, you must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle. Regular travel will be required across your allocated Family Help Team area, with occasional county-wide travel to meet service needs.

We recognise that families may need support outside of traditional office hours, so the role will include occasional evening and weekend working to ensure services remain responsive to the needs of children and families.
