Job summary

Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council is recruiting a Family Help Support Worker within Children's Social Care on a fixed-term basis to March 2028. You will provide practical and emotional support to children, young people and families to improve wellbeing and resilience, while developing family-led plans of support across the borough.

You will collaborate with Education, Health, Police, social care and voluntary services to deliver coordinated support, undertake assessments, safeguarding activity

Qualifications

• Foundation-level qualification or equivalent significant experience in children's services.
• Experience of working with children, young people and families with diverse needs.
• Commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality and information governance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, outcome-focused support to children, young people and families.
• Undertake person-centred assessments of family needs, strengths and risks.
• Develop, implement and review tailored family-led support plans.
• Act as Lead Professional where appropriate, coordinating multi-agency support.
• Provide direct practical and emotional support through sessions and group work.
• Maintain accurate, timely records of interventions and casework.
• Safeguard and escalate concerns in line with procedures.
