Job summary

Pertemps Northampton is seeking a Technologist for a Fall Protection role based in Kettering. The position involves coordinating testing projects, producing reports, and liaising with customers. Expect site visits, audits, and travel across the UK and internationally, with opportunities for development and on-the-job training.

You will conduct testing on harnesses, lanyards, connectors, anchors and related safety equipment, both on-site and at customer locations.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in English and Mathematics.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to travel UK and internationally.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Competent user of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Flexible approach and ability to manage changing priorities.
• Ability and willingness to undertake practical testing activities, including work at height.
• Experience dealing directly with customers or clients.

Responsibilities

• Planning and coordinating testing projects for fall protection and safety products.
• Producing detailed technical reports based on testing outcomes.
• Liaising with customers via email, telephone and face-to-face meetings.
• Hosting customer visits and carrying out testing activities both on-site and at customer locations.
• Conducting audits of manufacturing facilities and production control processes.
• Carrying out routine physical testing in accordance with recognised industry standards.
• Operating specialist testing equipment and accurately recording results.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the testing department.
• Contributing to the development of testing procedures, facilities and customer services.
• Working both indoors and outdoors, including occasional work at height.
