Job summary

ABP Food Group in Glasgow (Penston site) is seeking an on-site Training Lead to develop and mentor production operatives in a chilled factory environment. You will drive quality, cost control, yield and hygiene standards while delivering engaging training and ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will guide new starters, maintain training records, work with Managers to identify needs, and support continuous improvement projects across process and delivery formats.

Qualifications

• Speaking, writing and understanding basic English is essential for health, safety and quality control.
• Basic numeracy and attention to detail are required for training delivery.
• Excellent communication, presentation and training skills are needed to develop operatives.

Responsibilities

• Carry out hands-on training for all site operators from Goods in to Despatch and sign off against standards.
• Collaborate with Health & Safety and Technical teams to deliver training per policy.
• Onboard new starters and mentor them through initial weeks.
• Provide on-the-job guidance to ensure production teams learn and improve.
• Identify staff training needs with Managers and maintain a skills matrix.
• Maintain training records and refresh operators as needed.
• Support with equipment training and capital project procedures.
