Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and be proficient in operating various machinery within a manufacturing environment. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient production of high-quality products while adhering to safety standards and operational protocols.

Duties

1. Operate and monitor machinery, including mills and tooling equipment, to ensure optimal performance.
2. Assemble components and perform welding tasks as required for product fabrication.
3. Utilise hand tools effectively to complete assembly and maintenance tasks.
4. Conduct regular inspections of machinery to identify issues or maintenance needs.
5. Collaborate with team members to streamline production processes and improve efficiency.
6. Maintain accurate records of production output and equipment performance.
7. Troubleshoot basic issues with logic controllers and other automated systems.
8. Apply basic maths skills for measurements and calculations necessary for production tasks.
9. Ensure the work area is clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Experience with MDF foiling is preferred.
• Previous experience using machinery in a factory setting.
• Understanding of one-piece flow and lean manufacturing principles.
• Ability to manage workload and stock effectively.
• Willingness to assist team members to complete tasks efficiently.

The role involves operating a foil press for MDF to produce doors and drawer fronts. The process includes spraying glue, pressing, cutting, trimming, and passing the product to the next stage.
