Job summary

Caledonia Housing Association is seeking a Factoring Officer to help shape our factoring service, ensure regulatory compliance and drive digital and data improvements. Reporting to the Asset Manager, you will manage homeowner accounts, service charges and debt recovery while delivering value for money for the Group.

This hybrid role requires travel across our areas; a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in estate management and factoring within housing or property context.
• Proven ability to manage budgets and monitor performance.
• Track record in delivering excellent customer service and outcomes.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Knowledge of landlord/tenant obligations and regulatory framework.
• Understanding of housing, reactive maintenance and factoring services.
• HNC or equivalent in a relevant field is advantageous.

• Monitor contractors to ensure value for money and quality of delivery.
• Ensure compliance with current legislation, standards and best practice.

• Build relationships with customers and stakeholders, handling enquiries professionally.
• Drive continuous improvement and modernisation through digital data and process optimisation.
• Support group digital and data transformation to enhance experience and performance.

About the role Reporting to the Asset Manager, the Factoring Officer will play a key role in shaping the future of our factoring service, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements while driving digital and data improvements. Through a customer-focused approach, you will identify opportunities to modernise processes, improve performance, enhance service delivery and provide demonstrable value for money for customers and the Group.

Within this role there will be the requirement to travel across our areas of operation on occasion. A full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle is essential.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver an efficient, customer-focused factoring service to homeowners and mixed-tenure developments.
• Manage homeowner accounts, service charges, billing and debt recovery.
• Monitor contractors to ensure services are delivered to agreed standards and provide value for money.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant current legislation, service standards and best practice.
• Monitor and control delegated expenditure in line with budget provision.
• Undertake estate inspections and proactively address maintenance and service issues.
• Build effective relationships with customers and stakeholders, resolving enquiries and complaints professionally.
• Drive continuous improvement and modernisation of factoring services through digital innovation, data-driven decision making and process optimisation.
• Contribute to the Group's wider digital and data transformation agenda, enhancing customer experience and operational performance.

What you will bring

• Experience of estate management, factoring, housing maintenance/ management, surveying or letting agency.
• Demonstrable responsibility for budgetary control and performance management.
• A proven track record of delivering excellent customer service and achieving positive outcomes for customers.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and engage confidently with homeowners, residents, representative bodies, contractors and other stakeholders
• Legal knowledge of the obligation and requirements of landlords and property owners
• A strong understanding of housing, reactive maintenance and factoring services and the legislative and regulatory framework and associated requirements.
• HNC. or equivalent in a relevant professional discipline would be advantageous
