Job description

Job Title: Facilities Technician (Caretaker)

An exciting opportunity is available in the Estates department at Cardiff and the Vale College, based at the Barry Campus, Colcot Road.

Salary

Up to £27,965 per annum (inclusive of annual shift allowance)

Responsibilities include:
  1. Participating as part of the cross-College Estates team, with flexibility to perform various building, maintenance, and management tasks.
  2. Acting as a key holder, unlocking and locking sites according to procedures and schedules.
  3. Setting and un-setting alarm systems, recording faults, and reporting issues.
  4. Monitoring building services systems and reporting failures.
  5. Undertaking litter clearance, minor maintenance, and inspections of internal and external areas.
  6. Conducting regular inspections and litter patrols of external areas and public highways.
  7. Monitoring cleaning contractor performance and liaising with the Estates Co-ordinator or Assistant Co-ordinator.
  8. Managing waste storage and collection, including waste segregation and signing transfer notes.
  9. Welsh language skills are desirable but not essential.
