The role: Facilities Technician

The purpose of our Facilities Technician is to support the Technical Supervisor by providing reactive and pre-planned maintenance services. This includes building fabric, grounds maintenance, housekeeping, engineering services, and on-site waste management.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Delivering a positive workplace experience across multiple customer sites.
2. Maintaining high standards of HSE, security, cost control, service improvement, and customer satisfaction.
3. Building effective relationships within the customer organization.
4. Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and statutory requirements.
5. Providing planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring operational standards are met.
6. Carrying out grounds maintenance such as litter picking, grass cutting, pruning, weed control, and clearing drains.
7. Supporting building uplift and refit projects with colleagues from various disciplines.
8. Reporting risks and defects to the Workplace Experience Manager.
9. Maintaining site activity logs and supporting the Control of Works process.
10. Managing consumables, tools, and equipment effectively.
11. Performing other duties as directed to support technical service delivery.

Person specifications include:

1. Full knowledge of relevant HSE requirements and their application.
2. Attention to detail, diligence, and a proactive approach to customer service.
3. Ability to challenge and improve existing practices.
4. Proven experience or aptitude to learn in a similar role.
5. Good verbal and written communication skills.
6. Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards, including manual handling, legionella, PASMA, IPAF, asbestos awareness, and roof work.
