Job summary

Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Main Area Supervisor to join the Charlton Lane Hospital housekeeping team. You will supervise a team delivering catering, cleaning and portering services across wards and departments, ensuring safe, clean and patient‑focused environments.

The role requires leadership, people management and commitment to high service standards. It is a full-time, permanent position with weekend working, based at Charlton Lane Hospital in Cheltenham.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements for healthcare environments.
• Experience supervising staff and coordinating teams.
• Strong leadership and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate a range of support services (catering, cleaning, portering).
• Lead and supervise staff to deliver high quality, safe catering, cleanliness and portering across wards/departments.
• Maintain cleanliness standards and perform regular audits and staff training.
• Manage staff rotas, inductions, probation, and development plans.
