Harbour Healthcare Ltd. is seeking a dedicated General Maintenance role at the Care Centre in the UK. You will handle routine maintenance, safety checks, and liaison with the Home Manager. The position requires reliable teamwork, a clean driving licence, and willingness to undergo training on health and safety issues.

The role includes maintaining the exterior, assisting with deliveries, and ensuring adherence to health and safety policies. Benefits and ongoing training opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• General maintenance knowledge including basic electrical, plumbing and joinery tasks.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with Home Manager and staff.
• Proven ability to work well in a team and follow Safety procedures.
• Valid clean driving licence and access to a car or similar vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Complete all required legal documentation on time.
• Report and address any defects to appliances, furniture/equipment, or hazards to the Home Manager.
• Maintain exterior grounds, gardens, sheds and waste areas to a high standard.
• Clear snow and grit driveways and access routes for clients, visitors, and staff.
• Test fire alarm system weekly and log results; check call points and exits.
• Keep ventilation units and lights clean; replace faulty bulbs/diffusers.
• Record water temperatures and test portable appliances as per procedures.
• Maintain a Maintenance Book recording defects and daily repairs/replacements.
• Assist and supervise deliveries to the Care Centre; monitor goods.
