Job summary

Bassetlaw District Council is seeking a Facilities Officer to support caretaking and facilities across Queens Buildings, Worksop Town Hall and Retford Town Hall. The role includes preparing rooms for events, setting up equipment, assisting with meetings and providing cleaning support.

The post requires practical, reliable candidates with health and safety awareness, a full clean driving licence and good literacy and numeracy. Salary is £13.45 per hour (£25,877 per annum) for 37 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Experience of providing caretaking services in an office or civic environment.
• Knowledge of health and safety issues in buildings.
• Experience with security and building access procedures.

Responsibilities

• Carry out caretaking and facilities support across Council buildings.
• Prepare function rooms and set up ancillary equipment for events.
• Assist with refreshments for meetings and training courses.
• Carrying out cleaning duties not covered by external contracts.
• Support security and safe operation of buildings and respond to emergencies.
