Facilities Maintenance Officer

We are looking for a practical, reliable and customer-focused Facilities Maintenance Officer to join our Property Services team. This role will support the maintenance of Council general fund properties by carrying out a wide range of programmed and reactive repairs across the district.
The successful candidate will have strong practical building maintenance skills and be confident carrying out repairs such as painting, plumbing, bricklaying and joinery. You will help ensure that works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard, while providing a professional and approachable service to internal and external customers.
You will have a recognised qualification in plumbing, joinery or a related field, along with experience of repairs and practical building skills across soft and hard facilities management services. You will also have knowledge of health and safety relevant to the role and experience of working safely in a reactive maintenance support environment.
We are looking for someone who can work independently and as part of a team, build positive working relationships with customers and contractors, communicate effectively and stay organised when working under pressure. You must also be physically able to carry out lifting and loading duties associated with the post and be flexible in responding to the needs of the service.
