Job summary

Morgan Hunt Recruitment is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Officer for an FE College in East London. The role is based in South West London, paying £18-£20 per hour (Ltd company), with a 37-hour week, Monday to Friday, 8:00–17:00.

The contract is 3 to 4 months, with DBS clearance required or the ability to apply for DBS clearance. You will maintain a clean, safe learning environment through caretaking, portering, repairs, and coordinating with contractors.

Qualifications

• DBS clearance required (Enhanced) for adult and children safeguarding.
• Ability to carry out basic maintenance tasks and assist with incidents or emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance including basic plumbing, carpentry and decorating.
• Provide a visible, friendly presence on site and report day-to-day faults.
• Liaise with Contractors to ensure Safe Working practices are followed and safeguarding procedures are observed.
• Check and distribute incoming orders, manage stock levels and equipment.
• Carry out set up and porterage duties and respond to on-site requests.
• Log, prioritise and close work requests via Helpdesk system.
• Organise furniture and equipment for events and assist with special events.
