Job summary

Griffon Marine Ltd in Fareham is seeking a facilities assistant to support housekeeping, organisation and maintenance across our premises. The role involves day-to-day operation of facilities, logging issues, and assisting with contractor coordination to keep equipment and spaces safe and functional.

You will help with routine inspections, safety compliance, and maintaining cleanliness and order, contributing to a well-run workplace for staff and visitors.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of facilities or building maintenance.
• Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the day-to-day running of building services and facilities.
• Carry out routine inspections to ensure the workplace is safe and well maintained.
• Report and log maintenance issues, defects, and faults.
• Support minor repairs and basic maintenance tasks where appropriate.
• Coordinate and escort contractors on-site.
• Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and requirements.
• Maintain communal areas of the facility to a high standard, including exterior.
• Assist with movements, furniture setup, and workspace organisation.
• Provide general support to staff regarding facilities-related issues.
• Ensure cleanliness of facility, including waste management and recycling initiatives.
