Job summary

Options Trent Acres School, part of Outcomes First Group, is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to lead the day-to-day facilities, maintenance and site services, ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for children and young people.

You will manage a facilities team, coordinate contractors, oversee maintenance projects and drive compliance with Health & Safety standards while delivering value for money. This role starts September 2026 with a 40-hour week and £33,600 salary.

Qualifications

• Experience in Facilities, Estates or Site Management within education/healthcare or similar environments.
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety, statutory compliance and fire safety.
• Experience managing contractors, maintenance programmes, projects and budgets.
• Confident and supportive people leader who can motivate teams.
• Practical, solutions-focused and highly organised with ability to handle priorities.
• Holds a Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day management of the school's facilities, maintenance, housekeeping, catering and site services.
• Develop and oversee planned, preventative and reactive maintenance programmes to keep the site safe and well maintained.
• Manage contractors, improvement projects and facilities budgets to deliver value for money.
• Carry out regular site inspections and respond promptly to maintenance issues.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, fire safety, COSHH and statutory inspections.

Hours: 40 hours per week | Monday to Friday | Either 8am -4pm or 9am -5pm

(successful candidate can choose preference)

Salary: £33,600 per annum

At Trent Acres, we're looking for a proactive, hands-on Facilities Manager to lead the day-to-day management of our school estate. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same.

You’ll be responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, welcoming and inspiring environment where children and young people can thrive. From leading a dedicated facilities team and managing contractors to overseeing maintenance projects and ensuring statutory compliance, you’ll play a vital role in the smooth running of our school.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead the day-to-day management of the school's facilities, maintenance, housekeeping, catering and site services.
• Develop and oversee planned, preventative and reactive maintenance programmes to ensure our site remains safe, compliant and well maintained.
• Manage contractors, improvement projects and facilities budgets, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and delivers value for money.
• Carry out regular site inspections, identifying opportunities to improve the school environment and responding promptly to maintenance issues.
• Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, fire safety, COSHH, statutory inspections and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee the management of equipment, vehicles, tools and site resources, ensuring they are maintained to a high standard.
• Lead, motivate and develop the facilities team, creating a culture of high performance, collaboration and excellent customer service.
• Work closely with school leaders to support future development projects and continually enhance the learning environment.

What We’re Looking For

• Has previous experience in a Facilities, Estates or Site Management role, ideally within education, healthcare, care or a similar environment.
• Has a strong understanding of Health & Safety, statutory compliance, fire safety and facilities management best practice.
• Is experienced in managing contractors, maintenance programmes, projects and budgets.
• Is a confident and supportive people leader who can motivate teams and build positive working relationships.
• Has a practical, solutions-focused approach and enjoys finding effective ways to solve problems.
• Is highly organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Takes pride in maintaining high standards and delivering an excellent service.
• Holds a Full UK Driving Licence.
