Futures Recruitment is looking to appoint a Facilities Manager for a manufacturing business based in Leeds. As the Facilities Manager, you will take ownership of the day-to-day management, maintenance, and development of our manufacturing site and facilities. This is a hands-on role that blends technical expertise with leadership, perfect for someone who is happy to roll up their sleeves and get involved.

You will be responsible for maintaining and improving the site's infrastructure, ensuring all building systems operate effectively and efficiently, and managing both in-house resources and external contractors.

Key Responsibilities

1. Carry out hands-on maintenance, repairs, and minor installation work (electrical, mechanical, and joinery).
2. Manage all site facilities, including buildings, equipment, utilities, and services.
3. Oversee contractors for larger-scale maintenance and compliance-related works.
4. Ensure the site complies with relevant health & safety, environmental, and legal standards.
5. Maintain preventative maintenance schedules.
6. Manage budgets for facilities-related work and keep accurate records.
7. Support continuous improvement projects related to site infrastructure and equipment.
8. Act as the point of contact for emergency repairs and urgent maintenance needs.

The ideal candidate

• Proven experience in a facilities management role, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong practical skills in electrical, mechanical, and general maintenance (joinery skills a bonus).
• Good knowledge of building services and statutory compliance (e.g., fire systems, HVAC, water hygiene).
• Experience managing contractors and service providers on-site.
• Organised, reliable, and able to prioritise tasks in a busy, fast-moving environment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
