Job summary

The Aga Khan Foundation seeks a Facilities and Maintenance Operative in the United Kingdom to join our team. The role involves electrical and plumbing basic repairs, carpentry and decor, and assisting with moves and events. You will monitor BMS, manage stock, and ensure compliance in all areas of the AKF Centre.

You will oversee contractors on site, update the CAFM system, and conduct regular inspections to identify defects or hazards, escalating issues as required.

Qualifications

• Basic electrical checks and repairs
• Basic plumbing repairs
• Minor furniture repairs and fixture installations
• Painting, decorating, flooring, ceiling and wall repairs
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS)
• Record meter readings
• Maintain CAFM system entries
• Escort and supervise contractors on site

Responsibilities

• Carry out basic electrical and plumbing maintenance tasks.
• Repair furniture and fixtures and assist with office moves.
• Maintain and refresh building fabric through decorative work.
• Monitor BMS and report faults promptly.
• Keep plant rooms, storage areas tidy and compliant.
• Supervise contractors and ensure work meets specs.
• Test lighting and replace minor components as needed.
• Update CAFM with completed jobs and findings.
