Job summary

Suffolk New College is looking for a maintenance person/caretaker in Ipswich to join the Estates & Facilities team. You will work a regular shift rota, with responsibilities including general maintenance, security, and handling deliveries across campuses.

The role requires basic maintenance knowledge, driving Licence, and the ability to work in a small team or independently with attention to detail. 37 hours weekly at 52 weeks per year.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of general maintenance is essential.
• Carpentry or plumbing knowledge would be beneficial.
• Literacy and numeracy to Level 1 are required.
• Driving licence is essential for site travel between campuses.

Responsibilities

• General building maintenance across campus sites.
• Ensure building security and manage deliveries.
• Operate machinery and tools for maintenance tasks.
