Job summary

Caring Homes is seeking a Maintenance Person at Horsell Lodge in Woking. The role covers hands-on repairs, routine inspections and managing building systems to ensure resident safety and comfort.

You will work 40 hours per week, with a competitive £15.19 per hour. The position is full-time within a 70-bed nursing and residential care home, offering development opportunities and a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform a variety of repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to respond to emergency situations outside of regular working hours.
• A valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and maintenance of the building, equipment, and systems, including plumbing, electrical, heating, and cooling.
• Conduct repairs and improvements as needed, such as fixing leaks, replacing light fixtures, and painting.
• Ensure all health and safety regulations are met and maintain compliance with relevant legislation.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies to ensure the safety and comfort of residents and staff.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance work carried out and report any major issues to management.
• Collaborate with external contractors and service providers as required.
• Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, and order new supplies as needed.
