Job summary

CYGNET is seeking a Maintenance Assistant for Broughton House, a 29-bed specialist residential service in the UK. You will perform day-to-day maintenance on the fabric, services and grounds to keep the home safe and functional.

This role is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm, with duties including basic joinery, plumbing, painting and general building work. A full driving licence and enhanced DBS check are required, and you will record call-outs and routine checks to maintain

Qualifications

• No specific qualifications needed, but a general background in maintenance such as carpentry, plumbing, painting, and decorating.
• Must have a full driving licence and own car.
• Prefer City & Guilds qualification or equivalent in Carpentry or Plumbing.

Responsibilities

• Undertake day-to-day maintenance and planned remedial works to keep building, plant, and services in working order and record call-outs and routine checks.
• Carry out basic joinery, plumbing, painting and general building work.
• Check the fire alarm points weekly, including fire exits and emergency lights; test portable appliances as required.
• Ensure equipment is clean and well maintained and report faults or hazards.
