Job summary

Intersurgical Head Office in the UK is seeking a Building Maintenance PPM Operative to join our Site Services team. This full-time, permanent role covers planned maintenance, compliance testing, and general building upkeep to keep facilities safe and efficient.

You will perform PPM tasks, weekly fire and sprinkler testing, PAT, emergency lighting, and inspections across building and plant rooms, reporting defects and supporting contractors.

Qualifications

• Experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or a similar maintenance role.
• Knowledge of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
• Good practical maintenance skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Strong commitment to health, safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks.
• Weekly fire alarm and fire sprinkler testing.
• Emergency lighting testing.
• Portable Appliance Testing (PAT).
• Fire door inspections.
• Ladder and step ladder inspections.
• Drainage and sump pump inspections.
• General building and plant room inspections.
• Minor maintenance and repair works.
• Record maintenance activities and compliance checks.
• Report defects and support specialist contractors.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with Health & Safety procedures.
