Job summary

Mitie Group plc. in London is seeking a Building Services Maintenance Operative to join our facilities management team on a busy client site.

You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical, electrical and building fabric systems to ensure safety, compliance and reliable operation. The role offers ongoing training, opportunities to work across varied building services, and occasional call-out overtime where applicable.

Qualifications

• Experience within facilities management, building services or a maintenance environment.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical and fabric maintenance activities.
• Understanding of health and safety requirements and safe working practices.
• Ability to identify and resolve routine maintenance issues effectively.
• Strong communication skills, a proactive approach and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
• Willingness to undergo a DV clearance.

Responsibilities

• Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across mechanical, electrical and building fabric assets.
• Carry out routine inspections, water hygiene tasks and plant room checks to ensure systems remain safe, compliant and operational.
• Support engineers, specialist contractors and minor installation works across the site.
• Use CAFM systems and handheld technology to accurately record tasks, updates and maintenance activities.
• Follow all health and safety procedures, permits to work and safe systems of work while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
