Job summary

OFM in Cambridge is seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Electrician to join our on-site team. You will maintain electrical systems, support building infrastructure improvements, and help keep facilities safe, compliant and operational.

You will work with the existing maintenance team across electrical and building tasks, handle planned inspections and fault finding, and contribute to a proactive, collaborative workplace serving engineers, scientists and technical specialists.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Electrician with City & Guilds Level 2 Electrical Installations, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent qualification.
  • Current IET/IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
  • City & Guilds Inspection and Testing qualification.
  • Practical experience across a broad range of electrical maintenance and installation activities.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and manage workload effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive, flexible and collaborative approach to work.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements and COSHH regulations.
  • Competent IT, literacy and numeracy skills.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out electrical maintenance, repairs, installations, inspections, testing and fault finding across the site
  • Working closely with the existing electrical and facilities maintenance team to deliver planned and reactive maintenance activities
  • Maintaining accurate electronic records of inspections, testing and completed works
  • Coordinating contractor attendance and liaising with Facilities Management and administration teams
  • Supervising specialist service and maintenance contractors, particularly within electrical and mechanical disciplines
  • Diagnosing issues, implementing temporary solutions where required, and coordinating permanent repairs
  • Supporting Health & Safety initiatives and contributing to wider maintenance team activities
  • Assisting with permit-to-work processes, including occasional out-of-hours activities
  • Participating in the out-of-hours emergency response rota in accordance with company policy
  • Providing technical electrical guidance and support to managers and colleagues
  • Undertaking other reasonable duties in support of the Facilities team and wider business

We’re looking for a skilled Facilities Maintenance Electrician to join our on-site Facilities Maintenance team in Cambridge.

No two days are the same. From planned inspections and testing through to fault finding, repairs and supporting refurbishment projects, you’ll make a real impact on the safe and efficient operation of our facilities.

The Role

As a Facilities Maintenance Electrician, you’ll work closely with our existing maintenance team across a wide range of electrical and building maintenance activities.

Our facilities are continually evolving to support business growth and new projects, creating a varied and interesting environment where you’ll have opportunities to apply your expertise, contribute ideas, and develop your skills.
