Job summary

The Hawthorns is seeking a compassionate Maintenance Coordinator to ensure a safe, comfortable environment for residents and staff across our retirement homes. You will oversee building upkeep, quickly resolve maintenance concerns, and work with approved contractors to maintain high standards of service.

You may supervise the Maintenance Assistant, handle supervision tasks, and manage day-to-day maintenance operations, emergencies, and compliance with safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of safety and fire safety systems.
• Ability to make responsible choices in residents' best interests.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for residents and staff.
• Resolve home maintenance concerns promptly using knowledge of building systems and regulations.
• Engage with approved contractors and source suppliers as needed.
• Cover emergencies related to building fabric and systems.
• Line-manage the Maintenance Assistant where applicable, with supervision and performance reviews.
