Job summary

Collaborate Recruitment is seeking a maintenance engineer to take overall responsibility for maintaining site facilities, building services and production equipment to safe, reliable standards. The role focuses on reducing downtime and supporting production requirements, with duties spanning preventative and reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and coordination of external contractors.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance engineering within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Good mechanical and fault-finding skills, with electrical experience where applicable.
• Experience with preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs.
• General facilities and building maintenance experience.
• Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and solve problems.
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on production machinery and site facilities.
• Diagnose faults and complete mechanical and electrical repairs where qualified.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimise production downtime.
• Maintain buildings, utilities, lighting, plumbing, doors and general site infrastructure.
• Identify recurring faults and recommend improvements to equipment reliability and performance.
• Coordinate external contractors for specialist repairs and servicing where required.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure spare parts are available.
• Follow health and safety procedures, including safe isolation of equipment.
• Support equipment installations, upgrades and continuous improvement projects.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.

Job Purpose

To maintain and repair site facilities, building services and production equipment, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient operation while minimising downtime and supporting production requirements.
