Job summary

Manpower UK in Oxford city centre is seeking a permanent Mechanical/Plumbing Engineer to maintain the college estate. You will deliver mechanical, plumbing and general maintenance, keeping buildings and plant safe, compliant and well maintained.

You will perform planned, preventative and reactive work under the Maintenance Operations Manager, maintain accurate records, and support effective site operations.

Qualifications

• Full driving licence required.
• Experience in mechanical, plumbing and general building services maintenance.
• Ability to work safely and comply with health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Undertake mechanical services maintenance across the College estate, including reactive, planned, and preventative work on plumbing systems, water supply, drainage, heating systems, boilers, radiators, and related plant and equipment.
• Carry out plumbing installations, repairs, and replacements, including pipework, taps, valves, sanitaryware, heating components, and related fittings.
• Test and inspect plumbing and heating systems to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and College policies.
• Assist the Maintenance Operations Manager in planning, prioritising, and coordinating mechanical maintenance activity.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard, in line with health and safety legislation and risk assessments.
• Provide out-of-hours support for College events and conferences when required.
• Carry out routine repairs and general maintenance on building services and equipment across the estate.
• Maintain accurate records, complete required documentation, and support efficient site operations.
