Job summary

Veolia Portsmouth is seeking a hands-on facilities support role on a 40-hour week to help manage waste operations and building services at the site. The role involves porterage, log keeping, courier management, and ensuring safety standards are met.

You will work with a team to keep stores, post and assets tracked, escalate issues, and support subcontractors. A strong focus on organisational skills and attention to detail is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in waste management operations including accurate weighing and recording of waste.
• Ability to log daily records and manage stores/courier tasks.
• Strong organisation and coordination skills.
• Excellent interpersonal communication.

Responsibilities

• Waste management (including weighing waste)
• Management of couriers, post, goods in/out
• Porterage services (lift & shift) where practical (ensuring H&S requirements are met)
• Daily completion of electronic records including logging of stores issued/courier services/volumes of post/reactive tasks/franking
• Report and repair any fabric/building faults identified whilst carrying out daily activities.
• Escort specialist subcontractors as instructed by the management and supervisory teams
• Deal with any complaints immediately and report them to the Team Supervisor
• Report faulty or damaged equipment to the relevant Supervisor
