Job summary

Veolia is hiring for a maintenance-focused role at our Portsmouth site. You will perform repairs, routine checks, and essential testing to keep facilities safe and operational. DBS clearance is required and you will work 40 hours per week, Mon–Fri, on site at Portsmouth.

Ideal candidates have experience with hand/power tools, good communication, and the ability to work with a team to resolve issues quickly. Veolia offers a pension, health resources, and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Pass DBS check
• Experience using hand/power tools and basic building fabric repairs
• Able to identify issues and find practical solutions with team support
• Dexterity, coordination and physical fitness
• Good communication, teamwork and time management
• Attention to detail and self-motivation
• Competence with basic software and documentation

Responsibilities

• Repairs & Maintenance: carry out scheduled and reactive maintenance tasks and keep technical areas clean, safe and operational
• Preventative checks: routine inspections, meter readings and servicing to prevent breakdowns
• Portable Appliance testing
• Fire Alarm & Emergency light testing
• Complete tasks efficiently and move between jobs as priorities change
• Respond to service desk requests in line with site KPIs
• Support site operations by assisting and supervising contractors on site
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain standards
