Job summary

Vita Group is seeking a skilled Handy Person for our Vita Student residences in Lewisham. The role covers daily maintenance, repairs, and upkeep to maintain high building standards and a safe, welcoming environment for residents.

You will respond to maintenance requests, perform planned and preventive tasks, and contribute to ongoing improvements across interiors and external areas. A strong focus on safety, reliability, and customer-facing service is essential.

Qualifications

• Professional Painting & Decorating experience.
• Experience delivering preventive and corrective fire alarm and firefighting system maintenance.
• Skilled across a variety of maintenance functions.
• Well-versed in delivering Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
• Demonstrable understanding and adherence of safety compliance regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Respond to maintenance requests promptly addressing reports of issues.
• Conduct regular inspections of residence facilities to identify potential issues and perform scheduled maintenance tasks.
• Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
• Ground works, upkeep of outdoor areas including grass-cutting and hedge-trimming.
• Maintain the bin store area and perform general repairs (e.g., leaky plumbing, broken fixtures).
• Carry out tasks like replacing flooring and touch‑up painting/decorating.
• Ensure safety compliance and adherence to regulations during tasks.
