Job summary

purobuild in Manchester is seeking a skilled Façade Engineer to join our technical team on a range of high-profile commercial, residential and mixed-use projects. You will engage in design, assessment and construction phases, coordinating with clients, architects and contractors.

The role requires a degree in façade or related engineering, strong knowledge of façade systems and relevant standards, plus experience across façades. Hybrid working and a competitive salary are on offer.

Qualifications

• A degree in Façade Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong technical knowledge of façade systems, materials and construction.
• Experience with façade inspections, assessments, design or technical engineering.
• Good understanding of relevant British Standards, Eurocodes and CWCT guidance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver façade engineering assessments, investigations and technical reports across a range of building types.
• Provide technical input throughout the design stages, from concept through to construction.
• Assess existing façade systems, identifying defects, failures and remedial solutions.
• Review façade designs, specifications, calculations, drawings and technical submissions.
• Undertake site inspections, surveys and condition assessments.
• Provide technical advice relating to curtain walling, cladding, rainscreen systems, glazing and building envelope systems.
• Support façade remediation and refurbishment projects, including fire safety-related works where required.
• Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, manufacturers and other consultants.
• Assist with project delivery, technical coordination and quality assurance.
• Prepare clear and detailed technical reports and recommendations.
